Configuration
The DX8000 supports a range of configuration options that influence connectivity, payment experience, and enabled features.
Need help? Too difficult to configure?
Our team is here to help. Be sure to contact us, should you need help with the overall setup of your terminals.
Depending on the merchant setup, configuration tasks may be performed:
- on the terminal depending on your current needs
- during onboarding
- by Nexi support
- by a technician or service partner
Some options are intended for merchants, while others should only be changed with support guidance. Depending on the terminal profile, configuration may include:
- Wi-Fi connection
- mobile network usage
- language settings
- brightness and display behavior
- keypad tone settings
- base or dock pairing
- tip behavior
- QR-based payment activation
- terminal refresh or initialization steps

Wi-Fi Setup
The DX8000 can be connected to a Wi-Fi network directly from the terminal.
To access the Wi-Fi settings, open the connectivity or Wi-Fi settings from the terminal menu. [Placeholder: confirm exact navigation path and naming]
To connect the terminal to Wi-Fi:
- Open the Wi-Fi settings
- Select the desired network
- Enter the network credentials
- Confirm the connection
The terminal then attempts to connect and displays the active network information once connected. Depending on the terminal interface, the terminal may display information such as:
- SSID
- IP address
- subnet mask
- gateway
Advanced Network Settings
Some setups may also support network configuration options such as:
- DHCP
- static IP
These settings should only be changed if required by the merchant environment or by support guidance.
Mobile Network
The DX8000 may also use mobile connectivity depending on the terminal setup and SIM configuration. For most merchants, this should not require manual setup. If mobile connectivity is not working as expected, Nexi support should be contacted.
TWINT QR and Other QR-Based Payments
QR-based payment methods such as TWINT may require dedicated terminal configuration.
QR methods need to be activated!
QR payment options only appear if the corresponding payment methods have been activated for the merchant. If a merchant wants to activate TWINT or another QR-based payment method, this should be coordinated with Nexi.
Once enabled, QR-based payment methods may change the payment screen behavior:
- a QR code may be displayed directly during payment
- a QR option may appear on the payment screen
- a payment method selector may be shown
The exact screen behavior depends on the enabled QR methods and terminal profile.
Tip Configuration
Tipping behavior on the DX8000 is configurable. Depending on the setup, the terminal may support:
- no tipping
- predefined tip percentages: 5%, 15%, and 20%
- manual tip entry
- predefined tip percentages and manual tip entry
Because tipping affects the customer payment experience, changes should be applied in line with the merchant’s operational model. The configuration of tips happens at TID level.
Language and Device Preferences
The DX8000 may allow access to certain local device preferences such as:
- terminal language
- display settings
- keypad tones
- standby behavior
These settings can help align the terminal behavior with merchant preferences and store operations. [Placeholder: confirm which of these are merchant-accessible in the Nexi profile]
Initialization and Configuration Refresh
In some cases, the terminal may support operational actions such as:
- initialization
- configuration refresh
- profile updates
These functions are typically used when:
- the terminal configuration has changed
- a payment method has been added
- a profile refresh is needed
- support has requested a synchronization step
Because these functions may be more technical in nature, they should generally be performed only when required.
